Terms of use
Effective 9 October 2026.
Cutshed is free software running in your browser. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not, do not use the tools.
You need the rights
You may only process media you own, shot yourself, or have permission to modify. That includes music, dialogue, and footage of other people. A model license is not a license to the recording. Open-Unmix and Whisper being free to use commercially does not make a commercial song free to separate. You are responsible for copyright, publicity, and any release your project needs.
Nothing is stored
The site does not accept uploads and does not keep your files. Do not send media to the contact address expecting it to be processed. Processing only happens in your browser.
No warranty
The tools are provided as is. Separation leaves bleed. Whisper tiny mishears names. Machine translation misses jokes and proper nouns. Background masks miss hair. GIF color is limited to 256 colors. A job can fail when the tab runs out of memory. We do not warrant fitness for a festival delivery, a client master, or any particular browser. To the extent the law allows, liability for lost footage, missed deadlines, or bad exports is excluded. Some places do not allow that exclusion; in those places liability is limited to the amount you paid, which is zero.
Acceptable use
Do not use the tools to process illegal content, to strip protection you are not allowed to remove, or to impersonate someone with a synthetic edit of their voice or face without a lawful basis. The software does not add a watermark. That does not make the output yours if the input was not.
Software licenses
Site pages are application code. Open-Unmix UMX-HQ weights are MIT. U²-Netp is Apache-2.0. Real-ESRGAN is BSD-3-Clause. RNNoise is BSD-3-Clause and its Jitsi wasm wrapper is Apache-2.0. Whisper is MIT. OPUS-MT is CC BY 4.0. The ffmpeg.wasm wrapper is MIT and the ffmpeg core binary is GPL, because the build includes GPL-licensed encoders. Those licenses govern the software, not your media. Each tool page states the license that applies to that job.
