Vocal remover vs LALAL and Moises

What Cutshed actually separates
Cutshed publishes 26 free browser tools. Vocal removal, audio and video trims, compression, format conversion, background removal, upscaling, subtitles, and a timeline editor run in the tab. The file you open in those tools is not uploaded. There is no account and no watermark on a free export. Studio is separate, and it is the only paid part of the site. A Studio job sends the prompt, and a reference only when the model accepts one, to the provider. The credit price is the provider cost times 1.5, rounded up to the nearest 5. Packs are $5 for 400, $10 for 850, and $25 for 2,250. Credits stay on the account until they are spent. A failed or blocked generation puts them back. An unused pack is not refunded, except where the law requires it. The default clip, a 5-second Seedance 2.0 Mini at 480p, is 30 credits. Seedance 2.5 at 720p is 175 credits for 5 seconds, which is $2.19 on the $5 pack, $2.06 on the $10 pack, $1.94 on the $25 pack.
The vocal remover is Open-Unmix UMX-HQ, MIT, running in the browser. It estimates a vocal and builds the instrumental by subtracting that vocal from the mix. You get two WAVs. You do not get drums, bass, guitar, piano, or a voice changer. Songs are processed in short sections because a full spectrogram will exhaust a laptop tab. Eight minutes or 80 MB is the hard stop. Phones are happier under three minutes. The first run downloads about 17 MB of weights plus ONNX Runtime.
That is a karaoke bed and a vocal stem, free, with no account. It is not a stem shop. If the chorus is wet or doubled, the vocal will leak into the instrumental. The page says so, and it is a limit of this model, not a temporary bug.
LALAL.AI, from the pricing page
LALAL.AI’s pricing page lists Starter as free: 10 Relaxed minutes and a 200 MB upload. The plan table shows result downloads as unavailable on Starter, so the free plan is a preview rather than a full download. Lite is $7.50 a month when billed annually ($90 a year), with 90 Fast minutes a month, unlimited Relaxed minutes, and a 2 GB upload. Pro is $15 a month annually ($180 a year), with 250 Fast minutes, a VST, an API, and desktop processing that stays local. Minutes are the file length times the stem types you extract. Top-ups are 750 minutes for $50, 3,000 minutes for $190, and 5,000 minutes for $300. Fast minutes do not roll over.
LALAL is better at stem types, at quality on a hard mix, and at a desktop plugin and API. Cutshed will not split a drum bus. If that is the job, pay LALAL or use a tool that publishes those stems. Cutshed’s case is the opposite constraint: you will not upload the master, you do not want an account, and a vocal-versus-instrumental WAV is enough.
Moises, without inventing a price
Moises publishes stem separation that includes vocals, drums, bass, guitar, and keys, and it describes a much wider stem set, up to the high twenties of stem types, plus a chord finder, a speed changer, and lyric transcription. Apps exist for the web, iOS, Android, and desktop. The pricing page says a free tier exists with limited uploads, and that paid plans are there, but the price table we could read told us to log in to see full pricing. This page does not invent a Moises dollar amount.
Moises is better at multi-stem separation, practice tools, and mobile apps. Cutshed does not find chords, change the playback speed of a stem inside a practice UI, or ship an app store build. The pitch and speed tool on this site is a separate ffmpeg page, not a practice player.
Which one to open
Open Cutshed when the mix is stereo, you only need vocal and instrumental, and the file has to stay on the device. Open LALAL when you need named stems, a plugin, or an API and you have read their minute math. Open Moises when you are practicing a part and you want drums and bass as their own files, then sign in to see what the paid plans cost.
The MIT license on Open-Unmix is a license for the software. It is not a license for the song. LALAL and Moises say their own things about commercial use of the output. You still need rights in the recording.

FAQ
Will Cutshed give me a drum stem?
No. The instrumental is everything that was not estimated as vocal. Drums, bass, and the rest stay mixed together.
Can I download a full LALAL result on the free plan?
LALAL’s pricing table shows result downloads as unavailable on Starter. The free plan includes 10 Relaxed minutes and a 200 MB upload.
How much is Moises?
The public pricing page told us to log in for the full table. We are not repeating prices from other sites.
Split a mix locally
Drop a stereo file. You get a vocal WAV and an instrumental WAV. For drums and bass, use LALAL or Moises.
