AI video and image
A free Venice.ai alternative

Two different promises
Cutshed publishes 26 free browser tools. Vocal removal, audio and video trims, compression, format conversion, background removal, upscaling, subtitles, and a timeline editor run in the tab. The file you open in those tools is not uploaded. There is no account and no watermark on a free export. Studio is separate, and it is the only paid part of the site. A Studio job sends the prompt, and a reference only when the model accepts one, to the provider. The credit price is the provider cost times 1.5, rounded up to the nearest 5. Packs are $5 for 400, $10 for 850, and $25 for 2,250. Credits stay on the account until they are spent. A failed or blocked generation puts them back. An unused pack is not refunded, except where the law requires it. The default clip, a 5-second Seedance 2.0 Mini at 480p, is 30 credits. Seedance 2.5 at 720p is 175 credits for 5 seconds, which is $2.19 on the $5 pack, $2.06 on the $10 pack, $1.94 on the $25 pack.
Venice is a private AI product. The pricing page lists a free plan at $0 with base models, 10 text prompts a day, 15 image prompts a day, private and uncensored use, and an API you pay for with credits. Pro is $18 a month, or $216 a year, which Venice says saves $36. That plan includes unlimited text, 1,000 images a day, and 100 credits a month. Pro Plus is $68 a month, or $816 a year, with 7,500 credits and two-month banking. Max is $200 a month, or $2,400 a year, with 22,500 credits and three-month banking. Venice says 100 credits equal $1.
Cutshed is not a private chat product and it does not advertise uncensored models. The free side is media tools that never upload. The paid side is Studio, a credit balance you buy once. There is no monthly text allowance because there is no chat. If you came here for private conversation, Venice is the product that says it does that, and Cutshed is not a substitute for it.
Video price, said plainly
Venice’s pricing page groups Seedance 2.5 with Wan 3.0, Kling V3, and Grok Imagine 2.0 and says clips of about five seconds are under 80 credits. At the stated rate of 100 credits to $1, that advertised clip is under about $0.80. Cutshed’s Seedance 2.5 price for 5 seconds at 720p is 175 credits, which is $2.19 on the $5 pack, $2.06 on the $10 pack, $1.94 on the $25 pack. On that advertised rate, Venice is cheaper for the clip.
Cutshed does not sell a subscription, and Studio credits do not expire at the end of the month. Venice’s paid plans include a monthly credit grant, and the higher plans say unused credits bank for two or three months. If you generate every day, Venice’s subscription can be the better bill. If you generate once and then stop, a Cutshed pack sits there until you spend it.
Image generation on Cutshed is also Studio, priced from the same packs and the same 1.5× rule. Venice’s free plan includes 15 image prompts a day, and Pro includes 1,000 images a day. For a lot of stills, Venice’s allowance is the more generous published offer. Cutshed’s advantage on images is the free, on-device background remover and upscaler, which are not generative models and do not upload the photo.
Where Venice is better, and where Cutshed is
Venice is better at private chat, at a subscription that includes text and a large image allowance, and at the advertised price of a short Seedance-class clip. It is the product to open if those are the job.
Cutshed is better when the work is a file you already have. Split a vocal, compress a video to a size limit, write subtitles, or cut a timeline, and the bytes stay in the tab. Those tools are free, they do not draw down Venice-style credits, and they do not need the free plan’s daily cap. Use Studio only when you actually want a generated clip, emoji, face swap, or a spoken line.

FAQ
Is Cutshed free the way Venice’s free plan is free?
The editors are free and unlimited because they run locally. They are not 15 free AI images a day. Studio generation always costs credits.
Is Venice cheaper for Seedance?
On the rate Venice publishes, yes. Under 80 credits at 100 credits per dollar is under about $0.80 for a short clip. Cutshed charges 175 credits for Seedance 2.5 at 720p for 5 seconds.
Does Cutshed keep prompts private the way Venice describes?
No. Studio sends the prompt to the provider that runs the model. The free tools never send the file, because they never upload it.

Start with a tool that stays on the device. Open Studio only if you want a generated clip and you have read the credit price.
